Our next journey involved driving south back through Monterey and towards the Pacific Coast Highway through some breathtaking coast line down to Santa Barbara. Taking a well-earned day off, we hired some beach cruisers and rode along the beach to the central pier. That’s where we met a self -confessed hippy who was busy sharing his philosophy on life with anyone who bothered to listen to his stories, as he spoke from his mobile home. This vehicle was parked along the foreshore, and was slowly drawing crowds as the morning progressed; his motorhome clearly had some time put in to it with stories to tell on every corner. The car was more of a shrine or piece of art to support his philosophy for free living and the liberal use of recreational, and mind-enhancing substances.
